Hello!

Welcome to my online portfolio. Here, you can explore my resume, teaching philosophy, credentials, and examples of the work I have completed throughout my journey as an educator. You’ll find sample lesson plans, units, and classroom materials that reflect my creativity, organization, and dedication to student success.

About me:

My name is Olivia Hess, and I am seeking employment as an elementary education teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. I am a devoted, creative, and organized educator with a passion for fostering student growth and creating a positive classroom environment. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), with expected graduation in May 2025.

During my student teaching and field experiences, I have had the opportunity to work with diverse learners across multiple grade levels. I was placed at Ellis Elementary School in Belleville, IL, where I designed and delivered lessons across core subject areas, differentiated instruction to meet students’ varied abilities, and collaborated closely with my cooperating teacher on planning, assessment, and classroom management. I also completed observation and practicum placements at Henning Elementary School and was lucky enough to be placed again at Kreitner Elementary School for my current student teaching, where I am gaining further hands-on experience in lesson delivery, classroom management, and building positive student relationships. Throughout these experiences, I have worked with students with IEPs, 504 plans, and English Language Learners, ensuring that all learners receive the support they need to succeed.

In addition to my student teaching, I have worked as an Assistant Teacher at Pals Preschool and Daycare in Highland, IL, where I supported infants through pre-K students, assisted with daily routines, implemented age-appropriate activities, and collaborated with lead teachers to provide a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment.

I am committed to creating a classroom that feels like a family, where every student feels comfortable, safe, and empowered to grow academically and socially. I am skilled in lesson planning, classroom management, and differentiated instruction, and I am eager to bring my dedication and creativity to a school community.

Please feel free to contact me.

I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to your school and support the success of your students.
